Ingredients
4 slices of bread
2 eggs
1 tbsp lemon zest
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tbsp vanilla essence
Strawberries
100 ml cream
Butter
Prepare the ingredients. Whisk the eggs, cream, vanilla essence, powdered sugar (1 tbsp), and lemon zest in a shallow dish with high sides.
Dip the bread slices in the mixture on both sides.
Carefully transfer the soaked bread to a serving dish.
Heat a frying pan and grease it with butter or spray with cooking spray. To prevent burning, cook the toast over medium heat. Carefully transfer the bread slices to the pan.

Fry until golden brown, a couple of minutes on each side.

Make the sauce. If you're using frozen strawberries, place them in a small, heated pan and cover with a lid so they defrost very quickly. You want soft berries. Place the berries and powdered sugar (1 tablespoon) in a blender.

Pour the sauce over the hot toast. Serve immediately.
