Interview with Michael Cremo

Michael Cremo, author of the controversial book "Forbidden Archaeology," challenges dominant evolutionary theories by pointing to numerous overlooked archaeological discoveries that suggest the existence of modern humans in much earlier eras. In this interview, Cremo critically assesses the monopoly of scientific elites and highlights the phenomenon of "knowledge filtration," which leads to the ignoring of evidence that contradicts established paradigms. His research, grounded in Vedic philosophy, raises questions about the true history of humanity and the role of spirituality in our development.

Michael Cremo is the author (with Dr. Richard Thompson) of the now-famous publication The Hidden History of the Human Race (the Polish abridged edition is titled "Zakazana archeologia"). This monumental work on the history of archaeology is an impressive archive of archaeological and paleontological discoveries made over the last hundred and some decades that have been overlooked, forgotten, or falsified by the dominant Darwinian evolutionists.

The son of an American officer, critical of the Vietnam War, he sympathized with the '68 generation. His contemporary intellectual and spiritual pursuits are situated within Vedic culture. He is a member of the Bhaktivedanta Institute.

You and Thompson have caused quite a stir in official science. You are not formally trained archaeologists, yet you dared to question their views. Moreover, your attack came from within. To overthrow their paradigm, you invoked their own discoveries?

I believe that no one should feel intimidated by excessive, almost pious, specialization and a monopoly on professionalism in various scientific fields. This creates a situation in which a class of "ordained priests" claims exclusive access to sacred mysteries and relics. They alone are qualified to explain them. I disagree. Anyone willing to invest some time can familiarize themselves with the evidence and theories in a given field and make a rational assessment of the claims being made in it. In fact, I believe that periodic review of various scientific disciplines by "outsiders" is a sound principle. This is expected in other fields of human endeavor. Science claims to be a self-correcting mechanism. I don't believe that.
