Ear Buns



Ingredients
Butter 250 g
Milk 50 g
Sugar 1/2 cup
Salt 1/4 tsp
Eggs 2
Flour 2 cups

Whisk the eggs with 1 tablespoon of sugar, add milk and salt, mix well, and pour this mixture into the softened butter. Mix thoroughly (you can use a mixer). Then add the flour and quickly knead the dough. Adjust the amount of flour until the dough is soft but not sticky.

Roll out the dough and fold it in quarters, then repeat this process one more time. Refrigerate for 40 minutes to firm up the dough. Divide the chilled dough into several pieces, sprinkle each piece with sugar, and stack them on top of each other. Roll the stack of dough layers out again into an oblong flatbread. Fold the long sides in, leaving a 1.5-2 cm gap in the middle.

Sprinkle with sugar again, fold the dough in half, and cut into 1-1.5 cm pieces. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 220 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes. It's best to remove from the baking sheet immediately, as the sugar will leak out a little and the "ears" may stick as they cool.
