Ingredients
for the sponge cake:
6 eggs
1 cup milk
3 tbsp sugar
2 tsp vanilla
4 tbsp butter
Maple syrup
Nutmeg
For the whipped cream:
1 cup heavy cream
3 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
Cinnamon
Berries
Whisk the eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla. Cut the sponge cake into 8 pieces and soak them in the egg-milk mixture for no more than a minute. Fry each piece in a hot frying pan with butter on both sides. Place them back in the pie pan and serve with maple syrup. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Whip the cream on medium speed. Gradually whisk in the sugar and vanilla. Increase the mixer speed and continue beating until fluffy peaks form. Spoon the cream over the sponge cake. Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve with berries.
