Episodes selected from our own backyard.
This is how it all began.
I will pull files from my private Institute of National Remembrance, located in my memory.
These will be special events, perhaps insignificant to you,
but certainly those who participated will have a tear in their eye.
Let's stop being lonely, let the memories break the ice.
I was a workhorse and, as they called it, a very conflict-prone unit.
Therefore, I was isolated from the rest. I was given a position as a califactor.
I traveled between Bogdanka and Nadrybie in a truck unit.
The summer was beautiful then. Finally, the time for the July thaw arrived.
A glimmer of freedom also lit up in Bogdanka, just like in Świdnik and Lublin.
Excited, I came to Nadrybie to spread the seeds of victory.
Two shifts met. Among the people, Staś, the first in the mining commune, said,
"Go to Bogdanka, seeing the resistance, don't work,"
Staś said in anger. And what the hell are we supposed to do when there's no bus?
Get on the trunk, it'll turn around twice, I'll get you two shifts in a flash.
The manager was at the door where he asked, "Don't listen to him," I quietly said, "
No one will do anything to you today. Leave through the back door. Whoever wants to go,
seeing the uncertainty of the people, let's have our own meeting." The manager made suggestions,
everything moved quickly. Staś and Jaś were elected chairmen.
Back then, it was spontaneous, but excessive ambitions prevailed.
It was an uprising of manual laborers, and diplomatic vacancies were given
to white-collar workers. In the regional elections, Staszek took the leader's chair,
among the PRG crews working at Bogdanka. Staś wasn't a well-known figure.
I became a supporter of "S," sensing its existence as if it were a hotel guest.
