Vanilla "Buttons"



Ingredients
Butter 170g
Cream cheese 85g
Sugar 1 cup
Egg 1
Vanilla 1 tsp
Flour 2.75 cups
Baking powder 1 tsp
Salt 1/4 tsp
Food coloring

Whisk the butter, cream cheese, and sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg, add the vanilla, and beat until smooth.

Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Knead the dough and divide it into 2 pieces, adding different colors of food coloring to each. Wrap each piece of dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Preheat the oven to 175°C. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out on a floured board. Cut out small balls using a 4-hole or 2-hole button cutter, pressing gently to imprint the design.

Place the buttons on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 15 minutes before baking. Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes.
