Sugar 2 cups
Flour 220 g
Cocoa powder 70 g
Baking powder 1.5 tsp
Soda 1.5 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Eggs 2
Milk 225 ml
Olive oil 90 ml
Vanillin 2 tsp
Water 240 ml
For the Glaze:
Butter 115 g
Cocoa powder 60 g
Icing sugar 375 g
Milk 75 ml
Vanillin 1 tsp
Glaze: Melt the butter and mix with the cocoa powder. Gradually (alternating) add the powdered sugar and milk, whisking until smooth. Add the vanilla and mix thoroughly again.
Preheat the oven to 175°C. Grease 2 round cake pans with butter. Sift together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Beat in the egg, milk, olive oil, and vanilla. Beat with a mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
Pour in the hot water. Knead the batter and pour it evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick. Cool. Spread the glaze between the cake layers and over the entire outside. Sprinkle with grated chocolate.
