Walnut Brownies

Ingredients
Dark chocolate 200 g
Butter 170 g
Sugar 300 g
Eggs 3
Flour 125 g
Baking powder 1 tsp
Salt
Nuts 1/2 cup

Break the chocolate (170 g) into pieces, place in a bowl, and place over a double boiler. Add the chopped butter to the chocolate. Melt the chocolate and butter until smooth, stirring.

Add the sugar, mix well, and remove the pan from the boiler. If the sugar mixture is quite hot, let it cool slightly before adding the eggs to prevent curdling. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring each time until smooth.

Sift the flour with the baking powder and salt. Sift the flour and baking powder into the chocolate-egg mixture and stir. Chop the chocolate (30 g) and nuts, add them to the batter, and stir.

Grease a baking pan with butter, line it with parchment paper, and grease it again with a thin layer of butter. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth it out. Bake the brownies in an oven preheated to 170 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Be careful not to overcook the brownies. The base should remain slightly moist. Remove the finished base from the oven and let it cool, or better yet, refrigerate it for 8-12 hours (or overnight). Cut the brownies into squares and serve with tea.

Enjoy!
