Ingredients
Lentils 1 cup
Onion 1
Potatoes 2
Tomato paste 2 tbsp
Salt 1 tbsp
Vegetable oil 30 g
Ground black pepper 1 pinch
Ground red pepper 1 pinch
Lemon 0.5 tbsp
Rinse the lentils. Peel and wash the onion. Finely grate it.
Heat the frying pan, pour in the vegetable oil. Add the grated onion and fry over medium heat, stirring, for 2-3 minutes. Then add the tomato paste. Simmer, stirring, for 1-2 minutes.
Bring 2-2.5 liters of water to a boil and add the fried onion and tomato paste. Drain the lentils and add them to the fried onion and tomato paste. Cook for 10-15 minutes.
Meanwhile, peel and wash the potatoes. Grate them finely and add to the pan.
Add salt and pepper and cook the red lentil soup for another 10 minutes, until the potatoes are tender. Then, puree the potatoes and lentils in a blender. The red lentil soup is ready. Serve with herbs and a slice of lemon.
