Creamy Garlic Butter Spaghetti with Beef Bolognese
Ingredients:
10 ounces spaghetti
1¼ pounds ground beef
1¼ small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14.5 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1¼ tablespoons tomato paste
1¼ teaspoons dried oregano
1¼ teaspoons dried basil
⅝ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
⅝ cup heavy cream
2½ tablespoons butter
⅝ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Directions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the
spaghetti until tender. Reserve a little pasta water, then
drain and set aside.
2. Melt the butter in a wide skillet over medium heat. Add
the onion and cook until softened. Stir in the garlic and
cook briefly until fragrant.
3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking
it apart as it cooks. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir in the tomato
paste, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes if you want
some heat. Let the sauce simmer so the flavors come
together.
5. Stir in the heavy cream and let the sauce warm until
creamy and smooth.
6. Add the cooked spaghetti and toss until fully coated. If
needed, add a splash of pasta water to loosen the sauce.
7. Serve with Parmesan and parsley on top.
