Pear & Apple Grilled Cheese with Caramelized Onions
Ingredients:
Sandwiches:
4 slices sourdough or rustic bread
(160 g)
4 oz brie or white cheddar, sliced
(115 g)
1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
1 small apple, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons butter
(30 g)
Caramelized Onions:
1 large onion, thinly sliced
(200 g)
1 tablespoon olive oil
(15 ml)
Pinch of salt
Optional Add-ins:
Fresh thyme leaves or a drizzle of honey
Directions:
Sauté onion in olive oil with salt over medium heat 10
minutes until golden.
Butter bread, layer cheese, pear, apple, and onions. Top
with remaining bread.
Grill sandwiches in a pan 3–4 minutes per side until
golden and melty.
