A little star from the sky.

Once upon a time, there was a star that shone even brighter than our beloved Sun. And it was very, very proud of this, and out of this pride, it shone even brighter.
One night, the little star suddenly stopped shining and began to fall in a graceful, slow arc, straight towards Earth. As it flew over the African continent, it saw many black people wearing loincloths around their dark loins. It also saw a beautiful lion with a fluffy mane running across the vast savannah, chasing graceful gazelles as if on the wings of the wind. Africa so enchanted the little star that for a moment it forgot that it would soon crash into the cool waters of the ocean.
A little later, it saw the Great Mountains, for that was the name the little star gave to the Ural Mountains. From above, it gazed at Asia and thought that it would be much better off on Earth than in the vast vault of inky sky.
It passed Asia and reached a large continent. It was filled with many different cities and countries, islands and peninsulas. We're talking, of course, about our native Europe.
Suddenly, the little star began to fall very quickly. It fell and fell, and its fall seemed endless! Until finally, its tiny body touched the Earth.
Now, however, another ferryman had whisked her away on a long journey; it was a miracle. He carried the little star with exceptional gentleness and care, as if he knew what an important guest he was carrying.
During this wonderful journey, the little star visited a dozen large European countries before the wind slowly began to subside and left her alone.
The ferryman took the little star to a small house on the edge of a forest. It was very poorly furnished, both inside and out.
It was inhabited by a girl who could easily compete in a contest for the poorest creature on the entire globe. But, despite her terrible poverty, she had a heart of gold. She helped anyone in need, from ants who had destroyed their mound to people as poor as herself.
The little star stood in the window of the little girl's house for a long time before she dared to cross the threshold.
Inside, it was pleasantly warm, and the wind blew just as warm, though it should have been at least icy at this time of year. It blew through the holes in the roof and the leaky windows. It was clear that even nature had helped the little girl survive for her incredible kindness.
The little star very slowly crossed the threshold. As soon as the little girl saw her, she quickly ran over and took the star in her hand.
At that same moment, a small hole appeared in one of the star's corners, through the center of which an invisible hand threaded a golden thread. The little girl put her new pendant around her neck and approached the cracked mirror.
"But this star is beautiful!" she exclaimed. "I've never seen a prettier one!" And it was completely true. The little star was so delighted with the praise that it began to glow again with a faint light, which made it even more beautiful.
Now the little girl never parted with her beautiful gold-threaded locket, not even for a moment, and the little star was very proud of it. For she knew that only chosen stars were sent to Earth to comfort the poor and good, brightening their lives with their light.
