This story began on June 26th. It was Saturday, the first day of summer vacation. Everyone gathered on the ship and set sail, but did they do the right thing? Betty sat in a greenish armchair and stared out at the view from the window. It terrified her. It was a picture of the sea, newly called "deadly." As she watched the gently rolling waves, she wondered where her friends were now.
June 25th was high school graduation.
"Finally, this shack is over," Helen said. Helen was the most daring girl in school. She had sea-blue eyes and a slender figure. She liked risk and adventure.
"You're right, Helen," Mark replied. Mark, though very handsome, didn't have the slightest taste in clothing. He favored bright colors with a touch of whimsy. He was kind and pleasant.
"Thanks, though I'll tell you secretly, I'll regret making fun of the principal," Helen said in a low voice.
"I have an idea. Maybe tomorrow we'll go out to sea on our ship," Scott said. Scott was a resourceful man. His ideas always worked. He could dance well and drive both cars and ships.
"In that clunker," said Amy, the most cowardly of them all. She wanted to see the world and believed that one day this dream would come true. Death would only prevent her, as she often said.
"Nothing will happen to us," Scott promised
. "I'm not sure," Betty replied anxiously. Betty was very honest and fair. "Don't exaggerate," Peter, the strongest of the boys, replied with surprise. He always defended his friends and loved ones.
"Okay. What time are we meeting tomorrow?" asked Sara, the youngest of the group. Always cheerful and energetic. She had a twin sister born 12 seconds earlier. Mary looked nothing like Sara. She had a softer complexion and blue eyes. "We'll leave at 10:00," Scott said.
On Saturday, June 26th, at 10:00 AM, everyone was already at the shore. The waves weren't big, so no one thought this trip would turn into a disaster. The ship was small, but it was perfect for eight people. The boat was in good condition. After a while, everyone boarded the ship. Scott was the "captain" of the motorboat. The girls were pleased with the trip. Peter and Mark showed off their muscular build. As evening approached, the group decided to return home. Only then did they realize how far they had sailed from shore.
"I've never been here before," Mary said fearfully.
"Scott! Where did you take us?" Peter said.
"I don't know? I thought we were close to shore?" Scott replied
. "Aha! I see! We're far from home, lost, and on top of that, it's getting dark! Thanks, Scott! Thanks so much!" Helen announced
. "We're going to die! We're all going to die!" Amy shouted.
"Don't worry. We'll get through this somehow," Betty reassured everyone.
Everyone realized they were in danger and should stick together. After several hours of wondering how to get out of this terrible situation, it got dark. The group, thinking it would be better in the morning, went to bed. Only Scott was supposed to steer the ship as punishment. A moment later, however, a massive storm began.
"Wake up! Wake up and get the life raft!" Scott shouted.
"Where is it?!" Mark asked
. "At the back of the ship in a black box," Scott replied.
Mark went to the back of the boat and pulled out an orange life raft.
After a moment, the raft was thrown into the sea. Then everyone started jumping into the water. Scott was last.
"Helen! Helen!" Betty screamed helplessly. For now, only Betty, Amy, and Sara were on the lifeboat.
Unfortunately, a wave flipped the raft, and the girls found themselves in the water again.
One morning, Betty awoke on the beach of an unknown island. She was on the coast. Behind her lay a vast forest. Only later did she remember why she was there. Not far away, she saw a body lying. As she crawled closer, she recognized Sara. A moment later, Sara awoke.
"Hi, little sleepyhead. How did you sleep?" Betty asked.
"Don't joke around," Sara replied. "Where are we?
" "On some island," Betty replied.
"Where are the others?" Sara asked
. "I have no idea," Betty replied. "Let's look
for them." After a few minutes, they stood up and slowly walked forward. They talked about how they had become separated and that they would probably never see their parents again. After a while, they saw a wrecked ship. Not far from it lay three bodies. They approached them: Helen, Amy, and Scott. Betty approached each of them and checked if they were alive. It turned out the girls had survived, but Scott had had his throat slit. Betty and Sara decided to make a grave. By the time they finished, Helen and Amy were already on their feet. As they began talking, something moved in the bushes. The frightened friends screamed, but a moment later, Peter and Mark emerged from the bush.
"Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" Helen replied, outraged.
"No! We found you, Amy, and Scott. Unfortunately, Scott was already dead. We thought you, Betty, and you, Sarah, and Mary were also dead," Peter replied.
"Exactly, where is Mary?" Sarah asked.
"We don't know. We searched the entire beach and even some of the forest, and we didn't find her or her body," Mark replied.
This saddened everyone, but they knew it awaited them all. The survivors decided to find shelter before dark. Peter led the way, with Mark trailing behind. By the time they reached an abandoned cave, it was already nightfall. They decided to spend the night there. After everyone had fallen asleep, a hungry wolf entered the cave. Amy woke up and saw the wolf snatching Sarah. Amy began screaming. Peter woke up and jumped the wolf. Unfortunately, the wolf fatally devoured Peter and, as he had planned, snatched Sarah. In the morning, Amy told the group what she had seen. The group of friends decided to make a grave for Peter and build a ship. After two days of hard work, they built a small boat. They named it "SAVIOR." They decided to gather food and leave in the morning. As it began to get dark, they went for a nap. By dawn, they were on the raft. As they sailed into the unknown, they prayed for themselves and the three friends they had left behind on the island. When the sun set, they saw familiar land. Unfortunately, a storm broke out again. Once everyone was in the water, they swam as hard as they could to shore. Along the way, Mark and Helen stabbed themselves on sharp objects floating in the sea. Only Betty and Amy reached shore. In the morning, they decided to go home. It turned out that Amy's distraught mother had suffered a stroke, and her father had committed suicide. Betty's parents had taken the orphan into their home. However, that night, neither of them could sleep because they saw their loved ones. Amy, unable to bear the pain, went to the kitchen and stabbed herself. Amy was buried, and Betty was admitted to a psychiatric hospital. Two years later, the bodies of Helen and Mark were found. Finally, the island was found, and the remains of Scott and Peter were unearthed.
Betty began to cry and finally said to herself,
"Now is the fourth anniversary of my friends' deaths."
After a moment, Gloria, her nurse, came in and said,
"Betty, you have visitors.
" "Parents?
" "No! See for yourself. They say they're your friends. "
Two young women walked in through the door.
"Hi, Betty! It's us, Sara and Mary!" said the girl with blue eyes.
"What? You died," she said fearfully
. "And this is how you greet your friends," Sara said
. "Betty! Look, I was lying on the ship. No one was looking for me there. Then I decided to follow you. When I saw the wolf snatching Sara, I hit him as hard as I could. I thought the wolf had eaten you, and he wanted to eat Sara later. I made a raft and we sailed away. When we arrived, we went home. After four years, we learned on TV that the island and the bodies had been found. Then we heard that only three people survived the expedition. Besides us, you. We decided to come here right away," Mary said
. "I'm sorry. I'm glad you're here," Betty said, breaking down in tears.
