Our" Chupacabras

The first incident involving the "Polish chuppah" took place in 1998 near Radom, on the edge of the Kozienice Forest. Unfortunately, there is no precise description of the creature (although it was spotted by two men stealing wood) that was observed at the time. However, the bodies of three dead goats were found in the forest. The animals had bled to death through circular holes approximately 2 centimeters in diameter, located under their lower jaws. Also puzzling is the fact that rigor mortis had not yet set in for almost a day after death (as a reminder, the same thing happened with the goats found in Puerto Rico). Marcin Mizera described the entire incident. Unfortunately, to date, the veracity of this incident has not been confirmed or denied. There is no new information on this matter.

Another noteworthy case of a creature dubbed the "Polish Chupacabra" is the chupacabra. It occurred in the winter of 2004 near Goleniów in Western Pomerania. According to descriptions, the creature was approximately 1.5 meters tall and had glowing blue eyes. The creature appeared at night and killed farm animals, particularly preying on rabbits, chickens, goats, and ducks. A dead deer was also found near a farm. Exhumation of the bodies of the dead animals revealed that they had been killed with a single blow to the heart. Distinctive wounds were also found on the animals' bodies. Despite a manhunt for the chupacabra organized by the police and residents of Goleniów, the creature was not captured.

The hypothesis advanced by the police and local authorities was that the animals were being attacked by stray dogs, whose packs were roaming the area. Another theory suggests that the creature responsible for the killings was a wolverine, which may have entered Poland from northern Scandinavia or Russia. This was confirmed by DNA testing in Switzerland of hair samples found on farms where the animals were slaughtered.
