Ingredients
2 beets
1 carrot
5 potatoes
1 onion
mayonnaise

For garnish:
Dill
Pomegranate
Boil the vegetables and let them cool. Peel and grate them on a medium grater (cut a star shape from one carrot wedge for garnish). It's worth noting that for a festive version of this dish, you can replace the potatoes with a sour apple.
Bone the herring, remove the bones, and cut into small pieces.
Now, on a wide, attractive platter, arrange the following layers (approximately 1 cm thick) in a Christmas tree shape:
Potatoes seasoned with mayonnaise;
Herring and onions – a thin layer of mayonnaise;
Carrots;
Gently coat the beets with mayonnaise and spread gently.
Let's start decorating our New Year's beauty – lay out dill sprigs to resemble real branches. Place a carrot star at the top of the tree. Decorate with pomegranate seeds.
