Calzone with Marinara Sauce



Ingredients
Pizza Dough
140g Dry-Cured Sausage
1 Green Chili Pepper
1/2 Red Onion
220g Mushrooms
220g Mozzarella Cheese
1 Egg
1/4 tsp Oregano
1/4 tsp Ground Red Pepper
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Parmesan Cheese

For the Marinara Sauce:
800g Tomato in its Juice
3 Cloves Garlic
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Sugar

Roll out the dough. Place the sliced sausage, mushrooms, onion, and green pepper on one half of the dough. Top with grated cheese. Cover the filling with the second piece of dough. Fold the edges over and seal tightly. Make several slits with a sharp knife. Brush the calzone with beaten egg, sprinkle with spices, and top with grated cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 240 degrees Celsius (450 degrees Fahrenheit) for 12-18 minutes.

For the sauce: Place the tomatoes, garlic, salt, and sugar in a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Bring to a boil. Simmer over low heat for 20-30 minutes. Puree the mixture in a blender. Slice the calzone and serve with the sauce.
