Turkish Pizza



Ingredients
2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp dry yeast
1 egg
25 g margarine
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp honey

For the filling:
400 g ground meat
2 onions
1 bell pepper
Salt
Spices
Herbs
3 tbsp vegetable oil

Heat the milk, margarine, sugar, and salt until warm, beat in the egg, and stir. Mix the dry yeast with the flour, pour in the milk mixture, and knead the dough. Place in a bowl, cover, and set in a warm place.

Fry the finely chopped onion, add the sliced bell pepper, sauté briefly, add the ground meat, and fry. The minced meat must be thoroughly and constantly stirred, otherwise it will form lumps. Cook for 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste and add chopped herbs. Transfer to a plate to cool slightly.

Divide the dough into 4 pieces. To form the pide, use the following technique: roll out an oval shape, make slits along the sides, but not all the way through, then fold the strands of dough over each side. The dough in this recipe doesn't stick to the surface or your hands, so don't dust it with flour, otherwise the edges won't adhere to the base and the juices from the filling will leak out.

Place the minced meat into the prepared pide boats, grease the edges with vegetable oil, and bake at 200°C (400°F) for about 20-25 minutes.
