Ingredients
for the dough:
Flour 1.5 cups
Water 1/2 cup
Dry yeast 1/2 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Olive oil 1 tbsp
For the filling:
Butter 6 tbsp
Garlic 2 tbsp
Coriander 2 tbsp
Mix the flour, yeast, warm water, salt, and sugar together. Knead the dough and cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Add the butter and continue kneading with your fingertips (4-5 minutes) until the dough springs back when pressed.
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let rise until doubled in size, leaving the bowl in a warm place for 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine all the ingredients for the garlic filling. Grease a baking pan or baking sheet with olive oil. There should be enough room for 8 buns.
Dust the countertop with flour. Remove the dough and divide it into 2 equal parts. Roll out one part of the dough into a 0.5 cm thick rectangle. Spread about 2 tablespoons of the garlic filling on the rolled dough. Roll the filling into a roll.
Cut the roll into 4 equal parts. Place the buns (cut side up) in the baking pan. Drizzle the rolls with a little milk. Spread the remaining garlic on top of the buns. You can also sprinkle the rolls with sesame seeds.
Let the buns rise for another 20 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180C (350F). Bake for about 30-35 minutes, until golden brown.
