Ingredients
Flour 160 g
Cheddar Cheese 50 g
Salt 1 tsp
Dill
Ground Red Pepper 1/4 tsp
Butter 100 g
Water 2 tbsp
Salt
Mix the flour, cheese, salt, and chili pepper together, then add diced butter from the refrigerator. Blend in a food processor until crumbly.
Pour in ice water and test the dough, adding more water if necessary. Knead the dough on a cutting board and roll it into an oblong "sausage," wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about 3 hours (can be stored in this state for up to 2 days). Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius (375 degrees Fahrenheit). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a sharp knife, cut the "sausage" into discs and place them on a baking sheet.
If desired, sprinkle the bread rolls with salt and fresh dill before baking. Bake for 16-18 minutes, until golden brown. If you prefer crispier bread rolls, bake for an additional 10-15 minutes at a lower temperature. Serve warm or at room temperature.
