In Cannock, England, an unusual incident occurred on the M6 ​​motorway when drivers spotted an unidentified wolf-like creature running between lanes. Described as "grayish-black" and less than a metre tall, the animal sparked interest and concern among drivers. Although the Highways Agency suggested it may have been a husky, some witnesses believe they saw something else. A new, unidentified creature has appeared in Cannock. On Wednesday morning, June 28, drivers at Junction 10A on the busy M6 motorway near Cannock, UK, reported seeing a "wolf-like creature" darting between lanes of traffic.

Drivers watched in disbelief as the animal, less than a metre tall and described as "greyish-black", ran between lanes of traffic, dodging surprised drivers and jumping into nearby trees.

The Highways Agency asked police for help to capture the creature, which was later found to be a husky dog.

However, a representative of Saga Radio, which was the first to report the incident, stated: "The Highways Department said it was probably a husky. However, everyone who saw the creature is convinced it was something other than a domestic dog. I know it sounds strange, but these people think they saw a wolf."

With wolves having been absent from the area for hundreds of years, could this have been the infamous "Cannock Monster"? World-renowned paranormal investigator Nick Redfern believes so.

"Many big cats, such as panthers, were kept as pets decades ago. The Dangerous Animals Act 1976 put an end to this by prohibiting their ownership. At that time, many such animals were released, which was a convenient way for their owners to get rid of them," Redfern said.

"It's possible that a third or fourth generation of these animals is still alive today. The sightings in Cannock may be one of them. However, there are many documented sightings dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries, centuries before 1976. It makes you wonder why someone would make up such stories 300 years ago, without any publicity."
