book suggestions (announcements) and others

The Bad Card.
Next to the bedroom, there was nothing that should have raised any alarm at first glance. However, a device mounted in the wall was there for no good reason.
Two elderly people entered the room and made themselves comfortable. It was very hot, and the windows didn't necessarily open.
The woman undressed and climbed into bed. The man preferred to feel safer and checked. He opened the door and glanced to see if anyone was in the hall. He heard a slight noise coming from the left side of their room's entrance. He moved closer and pressed his ear to the wall. The two rooms next to the two men were very happy with the success of their operation. The monitor showed them things their bosses had dreamed of.
The next day, the number of people visiting the hotel dropped significantly.
Perhaps this was due to the strange deaths of two men, or perhaps the reason lay elsewhere.

Two out of a hundred.
Gambler was dealing another hand. The previous hand had already lost its edge. He turned a small tap under the table, then spun the wheel.
Three hours later, a man found him in the cleaning room. He'd been dead.
"Three hours," the doctor announced.
But that wasn't the most important thing. The most important thing was yet to come. The hotel staff moved slowly, as if they didn't care about their jobs at all.
They weren't here to clean. They were people many people cared about. It was undeniable that they didn't look tired, but they were trying their best. They'd been playing this game for a long time. No one expected this turn of events, and now all that remained was to fix the situation, if it was still possible. Thirteen floors up, something abnormal was happening. Something that shouldn't be happening there. It shouldn't be happening anywhere in the world. Two helicopters landed on the roof of a skyscraper, and two people descended to the thirteenth floor.
Two hours later, the situation spiraled out of control.

A clear prophecy
: Pride is good if you use it at the right moment.
"Will you use it?" – the man was surprised.
– Yes – replied the older one.
– I can only retreat thanks to reversed breathing and pride? – he was surprised.
– Yes – replied the man again.
The young man left and firmly vowed to find out what his interlocutor was talking about. To go back in time. That would be something. The man took his documents and left the dock. Two cars, each with three men inside, were parked nearby. It grew dark all around, and suddenly something caught fire in the old man's hut. Smoke rose to a great height. Two days later, the man found himself in the country he had always wanted to visit. China had always manipulated his imagination. He went to the port, where he found the man he had spoken to earlier in the old hut.
"Do you understand?" the old man asked.
"Yes," the other replied, and then left the hut.
The three men watched from afar.
The next day, the old man disappeared, and the man who had been visiting him was transported forward in time a thousand years.

Today
: "Today is the last day of your freedom," the man said, looking in the mirror. "Twenty-some hours is a long time to do something you want to do."
At that very moment, someone stood in front of the mirror, saying,
"From now on, you're free. Do whatever you want."
At that very moment, a third person stood in front of the mirror, saying,
"I have to endure until the end and see what happens."
There were eight hours left in the day when three strange men met in a strange bar.

Two.
The signal could be heard from afar. When he realized it was over, he decided to do what he had long dreamed of. He called her and apologized for everything he had done, and five minutes later, he died in an ambulance. From now on, he would have to observe the lives of the living from a different vantage point, one that initially was very inconvenient to him.
Playing God didn't include his dreams. However, he gave himself some time. It turned out that there was very little difference between God and the Devil. He understood a few things that had seemed obvious to him until then. Among them, that people have a very wrong idea about the afterlife. Forty-two hours after his death, he was given the opportunity to choose who he wanted to become. He could have been a farmer, a chef, a veterinarian. He chose something completely different. Something that truly suited his personality. From then on, his life took a completely different turn. He just didn't know how long he would have to serve in this new role. When he discovered it would be much longer than he expected, he decided to end his life immediately. But can one die twice?

Belief in fairy tales.
When it seemed there was no way out, something would appear that would either bring him down or give him courage and pull him out of trouble. He decided to discover the method that governs his life. Perhaps he could use it for his own purposes. The only question was whether he would follow the evil or the good path. Reason made it clear to him that if he did wrong, the evil would return and rebound on him. This convinced him, and he managed to find meaning in his life. After several years, he came across a sick boy who needed help, or the boy would die. He decided to teach him the techniques he had used, and the boy managed to survive. Years passed, and by chance he met the same boy he had helped recover from his illness. It turned out that the boy had fully understood this method and tried to help other sick people who needed it. One day, the man suffered a heart attack and ended up in one of the hospitals where the boy was. This time, he had the opportunity to help him. A friendship developed between them that would leave much good in this world. None of them suspects that their fate has long been written.

A plume of wood.
If we focus on a task for a long time, we will master it to perfection. He was a grandmaster. This meant that to equal his level would take a dozen, if not decades. However, the problem with him was that he refused to seize the opportunities life offered him, and if we wait too long, things happen beyond our control, or perhaps entirely our own doing. There are people who willingly use the knowledge they possess for their own purposes. Perhaps he could prevent this, but he must at least be willing, which seems impossible, for he has contracted a strange disease, until now virtually unknown to humanity. His friend decides to save him from the tragic end that may await him. Along the way, however, he learns surprising things that change his relationship with his friend and with the surrounding reality. He will understand certain things that until now had seemed insignificant to him. However, a crisis of faith ensues, and he himself falls ill with an unknown disease. There's nothing left to do but accept defeat. However, something unexpected happens that radically changes the fate of their tormentors. They also fall ill.

A Mile in the Sky.
It turns out he's not who he always seemed. He thought of himself as a go-getter who could handle any situation, but one day he discovered he was a bitter, selfish loner with no one but himself. Changing his life would be a blessing, but he's unsure how to fix the past years. He also discovers that his life has been played by completely wrong rules. Every move he made, seemingly right, actually brought nothing but misfortune.
At forty, he had a nervous breakdown, discovering he'd wasted his prime. For all intents and purposes, nothing. The change would cost him many sacrifices, as he had to start a new life under completely new conditions and learn to live by new rules.
The outside world was a disappointment to him. He wanted to escape as far as possible from various modern pseudo-entertainments. He chose the lowest possible standard of living and set out in search of the truths that governed this world. It took him twenty-five years, and he decided he wanted to try again, but in a third way.

Sadness without paradise .
"There must be a way, since others have succeeded," the woman said, looking down.
The enormous shaft containing a several-hundred-kilogram meteorite was a newly discovered find. The meteorite, however, was more important. So much so that a few ounces of this "stone" cost more than gold. The man was certain that what they found would bring him fame and fortune he could never have dreamed of. He found a way to force this specific "rock" to emanate a certain energy that was stronger than any element previously known on Earth. Still, there was a problem. He had to extract the first and second meteorites, which were far more intriguing to him. How could he transport them to a familiar location without unnecessary fanfare?
However, the real problems were yet to come, for he had no inkling that the meteorite held something more. Something that, in its own way, resembled life, yet in some respects was something entirely different. Furthermore, he was unaware that the woman he was working with possessed knowledge that far exceeded his own. The question was whether they would join forces to create something together, or fight to the death. And if they worked together, would their creation help or hinder humanity?

Magic Balls
. He lived in a small room in a two-story house. Three, sometimes four, girls lived next door. However, he differed from them in certain traits. He was somewhat backward. He was the same age, yet he was an autistic schizophrenic who had also developed other phobias over the past two years. The worst part was that he didn't really know he was ill. However, when he discovered the secret of his difference, he felt deeply wronged by life and decided to do something about it. However, when no one noticed how much he cared, he became even more upset. He wanted justice from life, or at least a fair chance to settle the score. He didn't go to specialists. He believed it was a waste of time. He sought help from his family, but they didn't notice how much he had changed. How much he was no longer the man he once was. He chose to change his life enough to find a way back, because sometimes, when you go too far, you can't come back.

A situation without treasures .
At least he was doing something for others, which made him seem more acceptable. People were systematically classified. Everyone knew they were being assessed, tested, and manipulated. Without their consent, various experimental substances were added to the medicines to test how their bodies would react. Smells were released through windows that might compel a person to go out and buy a given product. Everything was meticulously tested.
Various chemicals were discovered just to make you buy Pepsi instead of Coke. All sorts of things were searched for. Recently, a water source was discovered that had no contact with any modern substance. The search lasted thirty years. Such water contained such valuable information that a few drops cost more than you could imagine. Future generations will surely not know such a thing even existed. Or sand that floats in the air and disappears. Just throw it on the victim, and that's it. However, one person decides to face this predetermined battle. He wants to heal reality by creating various devices, such as various water or air purifiers. Will he succeed? Will he defeat the corporation? A

real creation
. Many mistakes can be made in life. But they only make sense when the right conclusions are drawn from them. There is both plenty and little time to fix everything.
When he had everything, he realized that he didn't need it at all. That his idea of happiness was inaccurate. He couldn't blame himself, however. He simply didn't have the necessary knowledge. One day, he finds a golden mean, which he decides to follow for the rest of his life. However, he sees that something is still wrong and that every coin has two ends. However, he has good intentions. He wants to do everything to return to the balance that makes a person happy. He meets a certain man. Their acquaintance quickly bears fruit, which at first isn't what he dreamed of, but later he manages to understand that everything takes time. He has plenty of it. One evening, he decides to once again dedicate himself to one thing in life. This time, he chooses a strange profession.

The house on the lane
One man, one goal, one vision. He wanted to create a world that was unreal, imaginary, and sick. Life didn't let him. He wanted to correct his mistakes. Life gave him this chance. He knew he could achieve much, but he could also fall to the wrong side. He felt he needed someone to show him the right path. When he found it, he didn't know why he was looking. He searched for a different solution. Within two years, he had been so manipulated that he lost his identity. It took him a year to find it, but something inside his mind snapped; it wasn't the same anymore. He had two years ahead of him, during which he had to choose which path to follow. The choice was both difficult and easy. He decided to trust life once again. Had he chosen the right one? If not, he would have to end his journey. The turning point in his life was yet to come.

Nothing could be done with magic.
From the very beginning, he felt something was wrong with him. Sometimes he heard voices. Sometimes it seemed to him that he had a chip implanted under his skin. Sometimes he strayed too far into fantasy... He felt like he was someone other than he really was. Several times he stole someone's energy or misread their intentions. He decided to change. He stopped watching TV, reading magazines. He wouldn't turn on the computer for a minute. He didn't read newspapers. He did nothing but one thing: he started reading books. He read a lot. All kinds. One day, however, he had enough. Enough that he decided he could handle life and understand what it was all about. He returned to his friends, his family. And yet, they weren't the ones whose image he remembered. He didn't like them. He returned to his old habits. He became a recluse again. One day, however, he met a girl he really liked. He decided to be with her. His life changed again, but now he couldn't go back...

Teralimmo
He was addicted. More and more, and to more and more things. He devoted two years to recovery, and two years later, everything started all over again. His addictions had permanently lost touch with reality. When one day he realized that his ideas about the world and the reality surrounding him were two different things, he decided to look for the culprits behind this confusion… in his own head. However, when he didn't receive the necessary care, he realized he was once again left to his own devices. After rehab, life had no meaning for him. The problem, however, arose when his family kicked him out of their home, and he found himself alone again. He had to quickly find meaning and find where he had gone wrong, believing that this was the only way to change his life. However, his assumptions proved wrong and were quickly verified by life. He was dealt another blow – he was expelled from university and his apartment. And here comes the turning point…

Hurry, radiantly.
Fate always played tricks on those who demanded it. They didn't speak of it openly, but subconsciously they were either bored, suffering from stagnation, or simply didn't accept themselves. A life without troubles would have become unbearable for them, because what would they do if everything went according to plan?
However, there was a man who tried to outsmart fate and decided to change his life completely. When he succeeded, he realized it had taken him more than half his life. He was deeply disconsolate at having so little time left and decided to devote the last years of his life to changing the lives of others.
He largely succeeded because people considered him the most evil thing imaginable. But fate sometimes has a way of playing tricks.

A Caravan of Power
It all began one overly bright evening. The campfire provided so much light that everyone gathered felt extraordinarily special.
The canyon behind them seemed as if it didn't exist, but rather a figment of someone's imagination.
At the very end, a dark dot stood motionless, watching.
It seemed to flicker slightly at times, but that was unlikely. Less than two minutes later, the black dot vanished into thin air. A moment later, the fire miraculously extinguished, and the people inside began a new life.
250 years later
...
now on a different note
...
Life is like a game of chess. The better player always wins. I had the opportunity to experience this firsthand during my first year, when, at the end of the first session, I was informed that I had been struck off the student list. Shhhh. Yes. It was a blow. Quite a big one, and quite painful, but the water was still to pour into my ears. I was still to wise up.

I thought things would be different, that everything would change. In reality, everything just repeats itself. Nothing changes, it just happens again. My studies turned out to be something that changed my life forever. Everyone has to find out for themselves.

I know how to write this book. I've been thinking about it for three years, and finally, one day, I came up with the idea. Everyone thinks writing books is easy. It's not only difficult, but, as it was for me, drawn out. I've tried many kinds of books. I've tried fantasy, crime novels, and fairy tales, but it was never quite what I was looking for. I never found the right genre. I thought it was over, that I'd never be able to come up with anything again, that I'd be doomed to failure for the rest of my life. But life has a way of surprising us when we least expect it. When we think we've got it all figured out, there's always something that prevents us from thinking so. I think the famous singer is right when he said that we shouldn't be good at three things in life: laughing, having fun, and crying. I also think we have to treat our lives as a journey to be taken and enjoy every moment that awaits us. I chose the path of a loner, and I know that we can overcome most of our problems alone.

I threw a party. One, two, three. There were tons of friends and tons of strangers. And as everyone knows, the more people around you, the lonelier you feel. After a week of partying, my house looked terrible. Not to mention my liver. My parents returned. A week later, I started university. I thought it would be the fulfillment of my dreams. Far from home, far from my parents' constant attention. Simply freedom – paradise.
I arrived in an unfamiliar city at twenty. I had chosen it myself and wanted to lead my own life, which didn't mean I wanted to be responsible for it. Looking back, I thought I knew enough to cope with any adversity that awaited me. I rented a room, which wasn't the best thing that had ever happened to me; it was small, dirty, and the hosts seemed mean. I took care of all the paperwork and went to my room. I closed the door and two thoughts immediately overwhelmed me. First: what was I doing here? Second: I was finally going to start a wonderful life. Away from my family, away from my friends, away from the monotonous life I had led. And I was a student at a fancy high school in my small but cozy town. I'd been going to that school for four years, and I never thought that something different could happen in my life. Something that would change my life forever.
Every day, I'd wake up at seven a.m. to receive breakfast from my mother and soon be in the car that would take me to school. My mother was a teacher. She taught at the same school I attended. Our house was about 15 kilometers from the city, so the car was a true blessing. I had everything, or so I thought. I had a family that I considered the best in the world at the time and that had to be an example to other families. My stepfather would leave for work early and come home very late. My mother didn't seem to have much time for me either, but after school, I always went to my grandmother's, who would give me lunch and help me cope with the new burden of the day. Every day, I also went to the school where I learned English. Then, my mother and I would return home. At home, there was a computer waiting for me, which I spent far too much time on. Two years after receiving my beloved toy, I had to sell it because my parents decided I was addicted. They were probably right, but for me, it was a separation that was very difficult. I lost a friend. A year later, I passed my driving test. On September 1st, I received my driving license and, after school, I had my first accident. I collided with a classmate. I hit my head on the windshield, while he luckily only had damage to the rear bumper. And that's when I sold my computer for the second time. My parents wanted me to cover the damages out of my own pocket. I spent the last summer before my final exams in the States. My mother met an elderly couple who liked our country, and they decided they'd be happy to show me theirs, which was not much worse. So I was invited. A week later, I got a visa and, terrified, flew to America.
