Ingredients
Apples 6
Flour 1 cup
Semolina 1 cup
Sugar 1 cup
Margarine 100 g
Baking powder 1/2 tsp
Lemon juice
Cinnamon to taste
Orange zest to taste
To prepare the filling, wash the apples, peel them, and coarsely grate them. Drizzle the apples with lemon juice to prevent them from browning. Sprinkle the apples with cinnamon; you can also add orange zest.
Take a round baking pan and line it with parchment paper. If you don't have parchment paper, you can grease the pan. Keep in mind that Warsaw pie is crumbly, so baking it without parchment paper will make it difficult to remove. Combine the flour, semolina, sugar, and baking powder and pour a third of the flour mixture into the bottom of the pan. Smooth the layer and top with a third of the apples. Alternate layers of apples and the dry mixture. Place pieces of margarine or butter on the final layer.
Bake the Warsaw apple pie in an oven preheated to 180-200 degrees Celsius (350-400 degrees Fahrenheit) for 30-40 minutes (the pie should develop a crust). Remove the pie from the oven, cool, and transfer to a serving platter. Your Warsaw apple pie is ready to serve.
