It's no coincidence that it could be called the Polish cousin of El Chupacabra. This terrifying and dangerous creature came at night. It killed farm animals, and was particularly fond of small rabbits.
The sight was horrifying each time – heads and ears bitten off, and bodies stripped of their fur, dripping with blood. The "Fakt" article continues:
"For several weeks now, the beast has been reaping its bloody harvest near the West Pomeranian villages of Świętoszewko and Czarnogłowy. To date, the monster has killed 120 animals and eaten none!"
The Polish Pomórnik and the Brazilian El Chupacabra also have one thing in common - no one has managed to create a credible image of it, although there are accounts of people who have encountered it face to face.
Such traces were left on the bodies of killed animals by Pomórnik
One of these people was Piotr Wojtecki, a rabbit breeder from Świętoszewko. " I grabbed a flashlight, ran out into the yard, and shined it. I only noticed the beast's large, glowing blue eyes. Later, I discovered 40 mutilated, dead rabbits."
Bloody paw prints, certainly not those of a dog, were often found near the gnawed bodies. Sharp claw marks were also found on tall wooden cages used to house rabbits. This indicated the beast was approximately 1.5 meters tall.
Meanwhile, Piotr Wojtecki reported the incident to the police, who immediately ruled out any human involvement. On the other hand, an ordinary Polish animal, such as a wolf or fox, wouldn't be able to break through a door panel or tear through a steel mesh fence. This opinion was shared by renowned veterinarian Jakub Kolanek.
The hunt for the mysterious murderer continued. "Thirty men armed with pitchforks, axes, and specially constructed spears set out into the forest yesterday to catch the mysterious creature." Unfortunately, the hours-long search for the creature proved fruitless.

Agata Wojak, an expert in rare animal species, exhumed the bodies of several murdered rabbits to see if the killer had left any traces behind. She was astonished to discover that the rabbits had been killed with a SINGLE blow to the heart!
Finally, the police joined the search for the mysterious murderer. Officers armed with firearms and night vision goggles combed the forests. Unfortunately, only a deer and a hare were found. Pomórnik himself was not caught.
The Pomórnik case dragged on for several weeks. The search yielded no results. Besides, is it possible to hunt the devil? The oldest residents of Świętoszewko doubted it. Meanwhile, an old woman, known locally as a witch, managed to chase the beast from the swamps.
The witch Wiesława Czerniach took Pomórnik's case into her own hands. Even the parish priest himself was pleased with her actions.
The kind old witch Wiesława Czerniach took a handful of herbs blessed in the church from a bag hanging from her belt and wandered around the area for several hours. Then she mixed the herbs with embers from wooden sticks. When they caught fire, she added a few light-colored tufts of hair, whispering a spell as she did so. Then, at the edge of the forest, she buried pig legs—a symbol of impurity. May what came from the earth remain there forever! And so it happened! From that day on, no further animal slaughters were recorded, and peace returned to Western Pomerania. We just don't know for how long...
