Baumkuchen

Ingredients
Butter 250 g
Sugar 250 g
Pinch of salt
Eggs 7
Flour 150 g
Starch 100 g
Vanillin 1 tsp
Cocoa powder 2 tbsp
Chocolate 200 g
35% Cream 200 g
Butter 1 tbsp

Preheat the oven to the grill setting. Beat the butter and sugar with a mixer until fluffy. Add the flour and starch. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with salt until fluffy, then fold them into the main mixture.

Divide the dough into 2 portions. Add the vanilla to one portion and the cocoa to the other. Grease and flour a round cake pan and line it with parchment paper. Place a couple of spoonfuls of vanilla batter on the bottom and spread evenly across the entire diameter. Place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes (until golden brown).

Remove the pan and place a couple of spoonfuls of chocolate batter on top. Place back in the oven for another 2-3 minutes. Repeat with the remaining batter.

When the cake is completely baked, remove the pan from the oven and let it sit for 15 minutes before removing it from the pan. Let it cool. Bring the cream to a boil in a saucepan, then add the chocolate pieces and a tablespoon of butter.

Wait for a minute, then stir until smooth, allowing the chocolate to melt. Pour the chocolate over the cake and allow it to drip and set in any shape you like. Refrigerate the cake to set.

Enjoy!
