Braised Cabbage with Smoked Meat



Ingredients
1 head of cabbage
1 carrot
1 onion
2 tomatoes
300 g smoked meat
Vegetable oil
Salt
Ground black pepper
Spices to taste

Thinly shred the cabbage and lightly squeeze it with your hands to soften it.

Peel the onion and cut it into half rings. Peel and slice the carrots. Wash and dice the tomatoes.

Cut the meat into small pieces. Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan and add the cabbage. Fry the cabbage over high heat for a few minutes, turning frequently to prevent burning.

 Next, add the chopped onion and grated carrots to the saucepan. Mix everything again and sauté over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Then add the tomatoes or tomato sauce, spices, salt, sugar, and pepper. You can also add bay leaves. Mix all the ingredients, cover, and simmer for half an hour over low heat.

After half an hour, add the smoked meat, cut into strips, to the cabbage, cover again, and continue simmering for another 10 minutes.
