Ingredients
Rice 1 cup
Apple
Lemon juice
Raisins 1/2 cup
Cinnamon
Sugar 2 tsp
Butter 2 tbsp
Peel and core the apples, chop finely, and mix with lemon juice. Rinse the raisins, soak them in boiling water for 10 minutes, then drain. Mix the apples and raisins, add the cinnamon, and mix again.
Rinse the rice several times with cold water, then cook it in salted boiling water. Once the water returns to a boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, or until half-cooked. Then drain the rice in a colander and rinse.
Place a little more than a third of the prepared rice in a baking dish and smooth the surface. Top with half the prepared apples and raisins, sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of sugar, then add a little more than half the remaining rice, the remaining apples, raisins, and sugar, and top with the remaining rice. Smooth the surface and arrange pieces of butter.
Bake, covered, in an oven preheated to 130°C (275°F) for half an hour. Then remove the lid and bake for another 5–6 minutes, until golden brown.
Serve with whipped cream or sour cream.
