Ingredients
For the dough:
Butter 125g
Icing sugar 3 tbsp
Egg 1
Vanillin 1 packet
Orange zest 1 tsp
Almonds 100g
Flour 150g
For the frosting:
Milk 400ml
White wine 100ml
Egg yolk 3
Vanillin 1
Orange zest 1 tsp
Sugar 6 tbsp
Flour 4 tbsp
Apples 6
Mix the butter with the sugar, vanilla, and zest, then add the egg and almonds. Add flour little by little. The dough should be soft. Place the dough in a 22x24 cm baking pan. Refrigerate the pan while you prepare the frosting.
For the cream, mix the flour with sugar, vanilla, and zest. Add the egg yolks and a little milk. Stir until smooth. Add the remaining milk and wine. Cook the cream, stirring constantly to avoid lumps, and let it cool.
Using a vegetable peeler, peel the apple ribbons for the roses. Arrange the apple ribbons into roses. Cover the dough and roses with cream.
Glaze the roses with warm jam or watered-down marmalade, whatever you have on hand. Bake at 180°C in a preheated oven until the dough is baked and the apples are golden.
