Ingredients
Flour 300 g
Baking powder 2 tsp
Baking soda 1 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Sugar 2 tbsp
Butter 75 g
Milk 150 g
Dark chocolate to taste
Egg 1
Preheat oven to 210°C (410°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. Rub the cold butter chunks into the flour mixture with your hands.
Pour in the cold milk and knead the dough. Knead it on a floured board and roll it out into a rectangle 3 mm thick.
Divide the rectangle into 12 equal pieces and top each with chocolate chips (the more the better).
Wrap the chocolate in the dough and press lightly around the edges to secure. Transfer the buns to a baking sheet and brush each with beaten egg. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve with coffee and milk.
