Prune and Orange Pie



Ingredients
Prunes 375 g
Orange 1
Whiskey 1/4 cup
Eggs 2
Skimmed milk 250 ml
Sugar 1/2 cup
Baking powder 2 tsp
Flour 2 cups
Walnuts 100 g

Chop the prunes and mix them with the orange zest and juice and brandy. Stir. Close the container tightly and refrigerate or place in a cool, dry place for 8 hours, or preferably overnight. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Prepare a rectangular pie pan.

Whisk the eggs with the sugar and milk. Add the filling (prunes, orange, and brandy) and whisk again thoroughly. Sift the flour with the baking powder and add the nuts, if using.

Gradually add the dry mixture to the egg mixture. Stir. Once the dough is combined, pour it into the prepared pan. Bake at 180°C for 40-50 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick. The top should be golden brown.

Remove the cake from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. Remove from the pan and cool completely.
