Cocoa powder 1/4 cup
Strawberries 6
Flour 1.75 cups
Buttermilk 1/2 cup
Baking powder 2 tsp
Sugar 1 cup
Butter 130 g
Salt 1/2 tsp
Vanilla extract 1 tsp
Eggs 3
Purse the strawberries in a food processor until smooth. Strain through a sieve. Mix with the buttermilk. For a richer pink hue, add a few drops of food coloring. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, combine the cocoa powder and 1/4 cup boiling water. Mix until smooth.
Combine the flour, salt, and baking powder. In a separate bowl, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and continue beating. Add the vanilla. Now add the flour mixture and strawberry mixture alternately. Mix until smooth.
Set aside 1/3 of the dough (about 1 cup). Add the chocolate mixture to the reserved dough and knead well.
Now layer the two types of dough in a well-greased pan. To create a marbling effect, use a knife to create streaks.
Bake at 180°C for 40-45 minutes. Let the dough cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert it to remove the cake.
